Message from CEO Seonag Macrae:

On behalf of all of our staff in communities across our province, it is my pleasure to recognize Canada’s National Aboriginal Day on Tuesday, June 21.

On this day we join with partners and groups across the province in honouring the vibrant contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Metis people to our province and country.

CLBC’s vision is to provide good lives in welcoming communities for individuals with developmental disabilities from every community in B.C. This involves strengthening culturally appropriate and supportive services, and improving access within First Nations communities. You can learn more about some of this work on our web site here.

We respect and value our First Nations partners, and will continue to work to strengthen relationships with Aboriginal representatives.

I encourage everyone to take part in an event in your community on this day. Information about Day of Wellness events across B.C. can be found on the First Nations Health Authority web site here, and here is a listing of other community events in B.C. on the Government of Canada’s National Aboriginal Day web site.
