Govt of BC is pleased to share the release of B.C.’s 2024 Poverty Reduction Strategy. The renewed Strategy provides a 10-year framework for action, informed by a broad public and Indigenous engagement through which we heard from over 10,000 people, at least 70% with lived experience of poverty.
This work builds on key legislative changes to three Acts made in March 2024 to better help people get out of poverty. These include new poverty reduction targets and changes to income and disability assistance to build a more supportive, inclusive system.
