Community Living BC (CLBC) welcomes Henry Chen who will begin his duties as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer on February 18, 2019.
“I am very happy to have Henry join our Executive team,” said CLBC CEO Seonag Macrae. “He brings extensive financial leadership skills and experience, and a commitment to supporting CLBC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen services for individuals and families.”
Henry comes to CLBC from TRIUMF, Canada’s particle accelerator centre, where he has served since 2011 as CFO and Secretary to the Board of Management’s Finance and Audit committees. Prior to that, he served as Treasurer and Controller for a large not-for-profit organization working with the University of British Columbia, and Comptroller, Financial Planning and Reporting for the Liquor Distribution Branch of BC (LDB). He has more than 30 years of financial experience including retail, wholesale distribution, and national and international hospitality management.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to join a team of dedicated people to continue the advancement of CLBC’s mission and vision,” said Henry. “Our social mission is truly inspiring.”
Henry is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Management Information Systems, from the University of British Columbia.
Henry replaces outgoing VP Finance and CFO Richard Hunter, who has served CLBC since its creation in 2005 and is retiring.
“I cannot express enough appreciation for Richard’s service,” said Seonag. “He has met the challenges of a rapidly growing organization that provides much needed services with determination, conviction and good humour. We wish him well.”
