May 2017 BC Provincial Election: Telephone Voting
Elections BC has provided the following information on telephone voting:
A Provincial General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
A telephone voting option is available for voters with vision loss or who have a disability that restricts their ability to vote independently at other voting opportunities.
Voters who choose to vote by telephone will be assisted by an operator throughout the process. Measures have been put in place to ensure the privacy of your vote.
Who Can Vote by Telephone
Voters with vision loss or who have a disability that restricts their ability to vote independently at other voting opportunities.
In order to vote by telephone, your voter registration information must be up-to-date.
Please visit the Elections BC website elections.bc.ca or call 1-800-661-8683 before Tuesday, April 11, 2017 if you have any questions or to make sure that you are registered.
When
Voters may call 1-800-661-8683 at the following times to vote by telephone:
Wednesday, April 19 – Monday, May 8, 2017
* Noon – 6 p.m. (Monday to Friday only)
Tuesday, May 9, 2017
* Noon – 4 p.m.
Other Ways to Vote
For voters who wish to vote in person or by mail, there are a variety of options:
* You may vote at the office of the District Electoral Officer between Tuesday, April 11 and Tuesday, May 9, 2017 (during regular office hours).
* You may vote at an Advance Voting Opportunity on April 29 – 30 and May 3 – 6, 2017 (8 a.m. – 8 p.m.).
* You may vote at a General Voting Opportunity on Tuesday, May 9, 2017
(8 a.m. – 8 p.m.)
You may request a vote by mail package on the Elections BC website elections.bc.ca or by calling 1-800-661-8683.
Braille candidate lists, large print ballot posters and plastic ballot templates are available at all voting places to help voters with vision loss to mark their ballot.
A Where to Vote Card will be delivered to every registered voter in British Columbia with information on voting opportunities in their area.
