CLBC WELCOMES NEW MINISTER OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL INNOVATION
CLBC warmly welcomes Hon. Michelle Stilwell, MLA for Parksville-Qualicum, as our new Minister.
We also thank MLA Don McRae for his strong support of CLBC over the past two years as Minister. He has stepped away from his position as Minister to support a family member through health challenges. He will still be the MLA for Comox Valley.
Minister Stilwell is a strong advocate for people with disabilities and has held a number of important roles since she was elected to government in 2013. She has also won a gold medal at the Paralympics and been a motivational speaker. To learn more about Minister Stilwell, please click here.

UPDATE ON THE COMMUNITY ACTION EMPLOYMENT PLAN
CLBC’s Community Action Employment Plan was launched in March 2013. The Plan’s goal is to create more job opportunities for people with developmental disabilities in BC.
After almost two years, the Plan has made great progress towards this goal. Three employment pilot projects were started last year in Thompson Cariboo, Central / Upper Island and Simon Fraser regions. These plans have been extended to November 2015.
We will share more information about the Plan in our next update. Thank you to everyone who has supported it so far.
