A large crowd of Kelowna community members gathered outside City Hall on October 6 to celebrate Community Living Month by forming a human ‘inclusion chain’. Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran proclaimed October as Community Inclusion Month and local Members of Parliament Ron Cannon and Dan Albas were also on hand to celebrate the event with the community.
The ‘human inclusion chain’ was first launched three years ago by Pathways Abilities Society to coincide with Community Living Month. Pathways Abilities Society is funded by Community Living BC to provide supports and services in and around Kelowna to adults with developmental disabilities so they gain greater independence through encouragement, education, and employment.
