Self-Advocacy and My YouTube Channel

By: Daniel Lopez

My name is Daniel Lopez and I have another self-advocacy story that I would like to share with you.

I started working on a YouTube channel when I was a teenager. Since then my YouTube channel has been growing. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been working on it for thirteen years.

At this point, I am halfway to being monetized. This means that once I get 1,500 more watch hours on my channel, I will be able to receive small cheques reflecting the number of views on my channel.

One of the main features of my channel is my work with dominoes. I have come up with some things that I have not seen anyone else do with dominoes. This includes building skyscrapers, using dominoes, and then knocking them down in the video.

Throughout the years I have learned how to navigate YouTube even though it can be complicated. I also filmed some scenes in El Salvador when my mother and I visited our family.

Having a YouTube channel has helped me develop self-advocacy skills.  I have had to contact YouTube several times to talk to a live agent so that I could navigate YouTube’s sometimes complex workings. I hope you enjoyed my self-advocacy story.

Feel free to check out my YouTube channel.
