by Jeff Stackhouse

Welcome to the most comprehensive BC guide to Canada 150 you will find anywhere online.

In this article I will list every Canada Day celebration in the lower mainland of BC and beyond.

Remember every celebration is 100% free of charge and is fully accessible.

First of all, Happy 150th Birthday to Canada! This is a massive milestone for us all and I am very excited! The Canadian government has spent 500 million on Canada 150 so enjoy it while you can; the money has already been spent.

This year ONLY the Canada Day celebrations go above the usual festivities with longer-than-usual fireworks and better-then-usual musical acts. Remember all fireworks displays in every community start at 10pm sharp.

Chilliwack will celebrate from 8am to 10pm featuring headliners Canadian Idol’s Jaydee Bixby and Nearly Neil, Canada’s #1 tribute to Neil Diamond.

Mission also will party from 8am to 10pm at Heritage Park with many local musicians then there will be fireworks at 10pm at The Mission Raceway. Click Here for event

Abbotsford’s celebrations begin with a parade at 11am and welcomes local favorites Kassandra Clack, Her Brothers, Saint Solider, Thistle Dew, Sister Says and The Ballantynes.

As a special bonus the Abbotsford Canada Day celebrations will feature my new painting “True Patriot Love” which made its debut at Art Vancouver under Canada Place’s legendary sails.

Take a selfie with “True Patriot Love” and you will be entered into a draw to win 1 of 3 signed prints of my patriotic Canada 150 image! Be sure to see my art rock Canada Day 2017 from noon to 5pm at famous Rotary Stadium!

Burnaby welcomes lead singer of the Barenaked Ladies Steven Page to Swangard Stadium, while White Rock presents The Boom Booms.

Surrey welcomes the well known acts One More Girl, Good for Grapes, Chilliwack, MAGIC! and local Abbotsford boys Hedley.

Vancouver celebrates for 2 full days at Canada Place, July 1st and 2nd with quality acts throughout both days.

The 1st features top acts Her Brothers, Rykka, Dirty Radio, Hey Ocean, Madeline Merlo, Fefe Dobson, Emerson Drive, Dragonette and Sam Roberts Band while the 2nd focuses on local cultural groups and a parade that travels the streets of downtown Vancouver.

Legendary Rock band Queen ends the night in style at Rogers Arena (tickets required)

Victoria is the place to be in BC if you want over a full week of celebrations.

Victoria presents 11 days of Canada 150 celebrations with non-stop music all days.

To top it off they will feature bands Delhi 2 Dublin and The Arkells and finish the night (July 1st) with Canadian icons Tegan and Sara.

If you want to go all-out, you may want to book a flight to Ottawa to see the many epic shows planned for July 1st and 2nd at the Parliament Buildings. Canada Day features Cirque Du Soleil, Dean Brody, Walk off the Earth, Alessia Cara, and Serena Ryder and the 2nd features Abbotsford’s own Hedley and Canadian legend Alanis Morrissette for We Day Canada.

If I have missed anything please comment below and let me know what else is happening to celebrate Canada 150.

If your town is missing from this article simply Google “(your town) Canada Day” and you will instantly find all you need to know about your local celebration.
