WOW Awards
Nominations are now open for the 2019 Widening Our World (WOW) Awards!
About the Awards
Inclusion takes many forms. An inclusive community is welcoming and respectful of all people. It is accessible, safe, culturally sensitive, and provides opportunity for social connection.
Since 2009, CLBC has presented Widening Our World (WOW) Awards to recognize British Columbians who are inclusion champions.
Over 40 winners have been honoured and celebrated for their dedication and commitment to making sure their communities are full of opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to lead full lives, have rich relationships and choice in how they live, work and play.
The WOW Awards are a great way to tell us about the inclusion champions in your community, so we can celebrate them together.
Nominate an Inclusion Champion in your community
The WOW Award nominations are a chance to recognize and celebrate the different ways people are building inclusion across B.C. Whether it is an employer, teacher, support worker, community member, self advocate, or anyone else that is making sure their community more welcoming and respectful of all people, CLBC wants people to tell us about it!
Nominations close at 5:00 pm on July 31, 2019.
People receiving an award (and the person who nominated them) will be contacted in August and September 2019. WOW Awards will be presented to recipients at events in their home town during Community Inclusion Month 2019 in October.
