When I think of art, I think of the word happy. That’s because art has brought me a lot of joy in my life. When I create art, I feel calm and relaxed. When I feel stressed out, I get out my colouring books and it can help calm me down. Art is peaceful and when I walk into an art gallery, I feel inspired.
I especially love to get together with friends to make art as that makes it even more fun. You get to see all of the different ways people can express themselves. People use colours and materials in different ways. When you are busy creating, you are peaceful, and you can have good conversations.
Art can represent the different parts of a person. For example, I am especially drawn to First Nations art because I am First Nations, and seeing that art makes me feel happy inside. I feel connected to it. Other people like to draw horses or some people like to draw bright flowers. Art can be an expression of what makes you who you are. You can show the world who you are inside through art.
I think we should live in a world where art is available for everyone, and everyone should be able to share their art with the whole world. I have a dream wherein every place has blank walls where any person can go and create and display their art to the world. People could express how they feel on the blank walls and it would be beautiful. It would make the world a much more colourful, happy, and relaxed place to live.
