DABC is in support of this petition calling for the removal of spousal caps on social assistance.
PWD rates should be separated from spouse/partner income as this can sometimes create an unequal power dynamic between partners, especially for people with disabilities who are dependent on their partners for financial security.
This kind of dependence can lead to spousal abuse.
