Welcome to Everybody Belongs!, the Inclusion BC Conference for 2020. Our conference is BC’s premier learning event for intellectual disability, inclusion and diversity. This year marks our 44th annual learning event.
We will be hosting the three-day event in beautiful Surrey, B.C., from May 21 – 23, 2020, at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel.“Everybody Belongs!” is a unique opportunity to connect with the latest information and resources on inclusion and diversity. We are very proud to co-host with Semiahmoo House Society, (UNITI) and the Self Advocates of Semiahmoo.

Margaret Wheatley

Margaret is a “warrior for the human spirit” focused on bringing out the best our human qualities — generosity, insight, and compassion! She is a best-selling author of nine books including, Who Do We Choose To Be? Please mark your calendars, and save the date.
Sarah Jama
Sarah Jama is a community organizer from Hamilton, Ontario. She is the co-founder of the Disability Justice Network of Ontario (DJNO), an organization committed to building the political and community power of people with disabilities.
Sarah will give a keynote on issues surrounding leadership, diversity, justice, and currently works at the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion as the Senior Program Coordinator. In her current role, she is building a leadership curriculum for youth around organizing inside and outside political structures, to be disseminated locally at different schools.
Youth Employment Summit
The Youth Employment Summit will build on the strengths, skills, and community that we have developed by producing more than 40 annual conferences. We will create a special learning and networking event focused on the needs of young people making the transition into the workforce.
The Numbers – More than 75% of people with intellectual disabilities do not have jobs based on 2012 research. In 2018, the Government of Canada noted that 40% of people with any type of disabilities did not have jobs. People with disabilities were also more likely to live in poverty. But 39% of unemployed disabled adults had the potential to work.
