The 9th annual Community Living BC WOW (Widening Our World) Awards are being officially launched today with a call for nominations by November 30, 2017.
We are inviting you and your networks to nominate someone who makes your community a more welcoming place, and to show us, “What Does Inclusion Look Like in Your Community?”
Every year, the WOW Awards create an opportunity to shine a light on the person, organization or business who is making your community a place where people of all abilities are valued and respected.
Nominations are open until November 30, 2017 at 5 p.m.
Please share this information with your networks and contacts. Thank you.
How to Nominate Someone
This year, we are asking you to complete a nomination form and submit a photo of the person you are nominating that shows us inclusion at work in your home town.
If you are going to send in a photo (it is not required), we ask that you ensure you have permission from those in the photo, and that you tell us a little bit about what is happening in the photo when you send it in. Photos will be posted on our CLBC WOW website.
Here’s how you can get more information about the WOW Awards or nominate someone for the Award:
- Go to the WOW Award website at www.communitylivingbc.ca/wow to read about the Awards, to fill out an online nomination form and photo waiver here, or print a form here**
- Or pick up a nomination form at the front desk of your local CLBC office**
- Or write an email for information or questions, or help with photos, to email@example.com
**When completing the nomination form, please provide as much information as possible about why you are nominating someone and how they are building inclusion.
The nomination forms are what help the WOW selection committee make their decisions.
What Happens After November 30, 2017
Four winners will be chosen from across the province by a selection committee. People who are chosen to receive a WOW Award will be contacted in December 2017.
The awards will be presented in the winners’ home communities during the months of January – March 2018.
